36 Dover St
Mayfair W1S
Outline
The project involved a 7 storey mixed use refurbishment in the heart of Mayfair.
Development
Our client required an extensive remodelling of their investment property at one of the most prestigious streets within London’s West End.
Behind a listed façade was a dated office block. This was to be refurbished into a retail space across 3 floors including a modern Cat A office across a further three floors and a penthouse apartment/ private office.
The entire building was stripped back to a bare shell with extensive structural alterations for the retail space. With Victoria Beckham’s flagship store planning to take occupation, an early sectional completion of this space was required.
Flowing from the office space above was a grand foyer formed with specialist antique brass finishes, joinery, panelling and Armourcoat.
Challenges
Structurally, the retail space required large diagonal openings to be formed within the existing slab. This, along with a three-storey opening in the rear façade for curtain walling, meant a large volume of steel had to be moved into place through a narrow site from a busy street.
Outcome
Quality was very high on our client’s agenda, conducive to the rental potential of exclusive Mayfair. This was achieved to the satisfaction of both the client and their tenants.
